I read this article about Andrew Stanton's journey being a director in Pixar. Lots of informative information there love how his so eager to share what he know to everyone so that we could better improve ourselves. I know that the article is about the story but it applies to animation, how we should think about the characters conflicts, character arc and how they develop through the story. A lecture given by Glen Keane, one of my inspiration in animation. Notice how he start with his lecture the importance of gravity. As animators we should be always thinking about it, how physics works and don't forget Newton's laws of physics. Also how he takes his life experiences and puts them in his animation. Enjoy!

unexpected visit

Yesterday there was a big surprise here at the office we were visited by Jerry Ching, very humble and quite shy man. He had worked on films liked Mulan, Emperor's New Groove and others, the latest is the upcoming Disney cg film "Meet the Robinsons". Awesome experience, got the ask him a couple questions, he gave us tips are tricks to make our animation better. I am glad to have experience this, for me its like a once in a life time opportunity.
